Frequently Asked Questions
Which Schools Are on a State's Online Master's in Education List?
A state's list holds only universities located in that state, each with its best-scoring fully online master's in education, up to 10. A school based elsewhere is ranked on the national and specialty lists, not on another state's list.
Why Do Some States Have Short Lists?
Some states have few universities with a fully online master's in education that clears the national bar. Pennsylvania has the most, 47 schools, while 2 states have one each. A state with none has no list.
Do Online Students Pay In-State Tuition?
Online students who live in the state usually pay a public university's in-state rate, and these lists use that rate from federal records for 2023-24. Many universities charge online students one flat rate wherever they live, so ask each program for its own figure.
